Gogol B.? Of course I've heard 'em. Love 'em too except they keep pulling their videos from my youtube play list. Now let me do you one better and suggest you check out this Irish band Bell X1. I found 'em on an online streaming Irish indie channel called Phantom 105.2. You should so check this station out. So many good, unheard-from bands on it it's mind-blowing.

As for the comic, I shall check it out soon, promise. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but we're currently sitting on Ace to see what Congress is up to. Barney Frank's got a pro-online gambling bill ready for a vote in the House, but the elections have put a hold on it, and if the Republicans get in that will likely kill the bill for the next decade. This is a very, very good reason to vote Dem next week--after all, making us filthy rich, well cuz, you know I'd share the wealth.;-)

http://www.joesparks.com/radiskull Dude, can't believe it's still out there! Of course he never finished the series... Have you seen Kick-Ass? It's a hardcore action comic... not exactly what they show in the previews. You gotta checkout two bands: Gogol Bordello is "gypsy punk", you'll luv 'em. The other is Scintilla, saw them in the Strip Thurs night. I'd describe them as an updated NIN w/hottie lead singer.

Hey, cuz!:-) Thanks for the support. Yes, #26 is the latest. But #27 should be out soon too. Do tell everyone to check it out. There will be a surprise plot twist in the next one and in #28.

As for "Radiskull," I haven't. Do you have a link? Post it here and I'll check it out sometime for sure.:-)

Thanks again so much for getting involved. It means a lot to everyone here, but to me especially.

-Phill

Hey, it's Matt, finally checked out the site cuz. Comic is pretty decent... like a funny version of casino royale. Is #26 the latest? Looks like Hoyle is about to fall on his ace! Speaking of him... what's up with his blocky-head? That's a freaky dome! Every see Joe Spark's Radiskull? Old-school late 90s flash-anime... great stuff for its time!

OK, so it seems people are reluctant to use these boards, so I'm going to start something b/c as I was surfing today I found a "Top 20 Web comics" article on Mashable that I thought was pretty awful. Here's a link to is so you guys can check it out: http://mashable.com/2009/03/03/web-comics/ Now, my thing is, yes to "Penny Arcade," "Red Meat" and "The Joy of Tech," but has anyone else ever found "Homestar Runner" unbelievably lame? I realize I'm treading dangerous waters here since my strip's only two months old, but c'mon. Homestar is about as funny as a bowl of beans! If you want a real laugh, try something like Leisure Town: http://www.leisuretown.com/ Yes, I hate to post outgoing links b/c the boys at corporate will throw a fit, but right now I just don't care. "Leisure Town" is a brilliant series, if totally rated R, and it's a pity we rank higher in Alexa right now because Tristan Farnon is a genius. I titter for "Red Meat" and "PA," I laugh to tears for "Leisure Town." So regardless of what you think of my work, as inchoate and young as it is, I hope you won't blame me for saying most of the things mentioned in that Mashable article are absolute crap and even the things that are passable would rank close to 20 in my own 20 Best list. It seems while there's no end to the amount of talent going online these days, the only Web comics getting much press time are the ones that started over a decade ago. And this is sad. It's sad because back in the 90s there was still enough money in print to employ talented people, and the only people going online were morons who couldn't make the cut. Now with every newspaper and magazine in the U.S. falling on hard times, so much so that even the talented folks can't get jobs, we're locked into this ridiculous situation where the losers of Gen X are ruling the roost? I'm not indicating myself as a "talented" person, but Farnon definitely is one of them. So I'm opening up the first discussion in our comix talk to find out about other under-recognized greats you guys know about. I'm really sick of the same old "Homestar," "PA," "Red Meat" discussion. So I want to start a little revolution here and maybe we can get some good comics on a future list. Anyhow, rant over. Question plain and simple: Who do you like who never makes it onto these silly Top 20 lists? Leave us a message after the beep.... -Phill

Got an opinion on "The Adventures of Ace Hoyle" or any other Web comic for that matter? Feel free to discuss it all in this thread created specifically as a forum for snarky fan comments.
